Removing Pet Urine Smells with herbs

We all love our pets but had the urine smell
Some Cats and Dogs mark for territory or for anxiety
These are all natural ways to remove the smell without hurting your pets

1.Baking Soda Solution
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
15 Drops Cinnamon or Rosemary

2. Apple Cider Vinegar method
1/2 Cup of a cup of Apple Cider vinegar
3/4 Cup cup of hydrogen peroxide
1 tsp dawn dish detergent.

3.Vinegar and Baking Soda
Using a dry cloth, soak up as much urine as you can. Be sure to blot the urine with the cloth, rather than wipe it, so you don’t spread it around and make the stain bigger than it already is.
Next, soak the area with a mixture of a third cup of vinegar (white) and two thirds cup of water, plus a little bit of soap or dishwasher detergent. Using another piece of cloth, soak up the liquid spot by pressing down hard repeatedly until the spot is close to dry.
Then, use another cloth and press down on the remaining liquid.
Finally, add some baking soda on top of the area and run it over with a vacuum cleaner within a day.

4.Listerine
Listerine can be added to the vinegar/baking soda or peroxide recipe to increase effectiveness in removing pet urine odors. The reason for this is that Listerine mouthwash contains alcohol, a common disinfectant.
To use Listerine to remove cat urine odors, simply add a few drops to one of the two previous solutions- or mix it with hot water and apply it to the stained area.

5. tea Mustard Herbal Solution
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp lemon tea leaves
Or try ground-up grapefruit and lemon rinds

Simply mix together and sprinkle.

6. Rosemary Solution
mix
1 tsp dried mustard
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp coffee grounds
1 tsp dried rosemary
Take a few cotton balls and use an eye dropper to wet them with cinnamon, citronella, lemon, lemon grass, lavender, orange and rosemary oils. Tuck the cotton balls into the corners of closets or rooms you want to keep
Your Pet to stop peeing and marking an area

works inside and outdoors too

7. make a Cat / Dog Tea Repellent
Steep fresh or dried herbs such as lavender, rosemary or cayenne in boiling water for five minutes. Strain the infusion and put the liquid into a clean spray bottle. Don't use a bottle that formerly held detergent or toxic chemicals, buy an empty bottle at the drug store or gardening center for this. Spray down the baseboards, mist the floors of closets or rooms, furniture, counter tops, or spray your potted plants. These will not hurt a plant, but will make cats dislike going near them. The scent will not be very detectable to humans, but will be very strong to cats and Dogs . Spray areas every week or two, or as often as needed.

8. Minty Pet Smell be Gone
Mix
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp Mint
1 tsp lavender
mix in a spray bottle and spray area

I have Triple Check to make sure these are non toxic to pets
if you have any non toxic herbal remedies share them and we can all learn each others tricks

3 Natural Homemade Sunscreen recipes

Natural Homemade Sunscreen ~Frisky

1/2 cup almond or olive oil (can infuse with herbs first if desired)
1/4 cup coconut oil (natural SPF 4)
1/4 cup beeswax
2 Tablespoons Zinc Oxide (This is a non-nano version that won’t be absorbed into the skin. Be careful not to inhale the powder). This makes a natural SPF of 20+ or more can be added.)
Optional: 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
Optional: 2 tablespoons Shea Butter (natural SPF 4-5)
Optional: Essential Oils, Vanilla Extract or other natural extracts to suit your preference (but no citrus)

How to Make--

Combine ingredients except zinc oxide in a pint sized or larger glass jar. I have a mason jar that I keep just for making lotions and lotion bars, or you can even reuse a glass jar from pickles, olives or other foods.
Fill a medium saucepan with a couple inches of water and place over medium heat.
Put a lid on the jar loosely and place in the pan with the water.
As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt. Shake or stir occasionally to incorporate. When all ingredients are completely melted, add the zinc oxide, stir in well and pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage. Small mason jars (pint size) are great for this. It will not pump well in a lotion pump!
Stir a few times as it cools to make sure zinc oxide is incorporated.
Use as you would regular sunscreen. Best if used within six months.

Tips---

This sunscreen is somewhat but not completely waterproof and will need to be reapplied after sweating or swimming
Make sure not to inhale the Zinc Oxide- use a mask if necessary!
This recipe has an SPF of about 20, though adding more Zinc Oxide will increase the SPF
Add more beeswax to make thicker sunscreen, less to make smooth sunscreen
I recommend coconut or vanilla extract or lavender essential oils for fragrance
Store in a cool, dry place or in the fridge
I prefer to store in a small canning jar and apply like a body butter. It will be thicker, especially if you use coconut oil in the recipe.
remove the Zinc Oxide and this makes an excellent lotion recipe!

Note to help you Adjust the SPF
Raspberry Seed Oil. The highest of all natural ingredients, contains an estimated SPF of 30-50.
Shea Butter. An excellent skin protectant with an SPF of approximately 6-10.
Carrot Seed Oil. Carrot seed oil is an essential oil and has been estimated to contain SPF levels of 30.
Wheat Germ Oil. While super nourishing for the skin, it too possesses a natural SPF of 20.
Sesame oil, Coconut Oil, Hemp oil, Avocado oil, Soybean, and Peanut Oil. All contain SPF levels between 4-10.

Homemade Sunscreen WITHOUT coconut Oil  ~Frisky

Ingredients that Naturally Protect Us from the Sun
There are natural ingredients, some may be found in our kitchens, that work to protect us from over exposure to the sun. Many are oils that contain SPF properties such as:

The Recipe
Ingredients
Customize this recipe based on your budget and what you have available.
-1 ounce oil blend (use any combination of the oils listed above)
-1 ounce beeswax (adds waterproof properties)
-1 ounce butter blend (i.e. Shea butter, mango butter, or cocoa butter)
-1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
-0.36 ounces zinc oxide powder
-30 drops essential oils, optional
Method
1. Gather ingredients and kitchen tools. Note: Many of the oils listed above can be found in the grocery store or health food store. I love the quality and cosmetic properties of the oils, essential oils, and butters available from Mountain Rose Herbs. They are my source for these things. Find beeswax here or search for a local source by clicking here.
2. In a double boiler, over low heat, melt the oils, beeswax, and butters.
3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly prior to adding the vitamin E oil, zinc oxide powder, and essential oils. Note: Wear a mask when working with zinc oxide. Although it has not been proven harmful when used topically, inhaling the substance can be dangerous.
4. Stir until zinc oxide is dissolved.
5. Pour into a push-up or roll-up dispenser. This recipe will produce a product similar to a lotion bar or sunscreen stick. You could easily clean out and re-purpose a used deodorant or lip balm container. But, if you want to buy a new one…I love these containers.
6. Allow to cool and harden on the counter overnight and then you’re good to go! During times of heavy sun and swim exposure be sure to reapply often for the best coverage.

Homemade Sunscreen Bars ~Frisky

Ingredients that Naturally Protect Us from the Sun
There are natural ingredients, some may be found in our kitchens, that work to protect us from over exposure to the sun. Many are oils that contain SPF properties such as:
Raspberry Seed Oil. The highest of all natural ingredients, contains an estimated SPF of 30-50.
Shea Butter. An excellent skin protectant with an SPF of approximately 6-10.

Sesame oil, Coconut Oil, Hemp oil, Avocado oil, Soybean, and Peanut Oil. All contain SPF levels between 4-10.

1 cup coconut oil
1 cup shea butter, cocoa butter or mango butter (or a mix of all three equal to 1 cup)
1 cup beeswax (can add an extra ounce or two if you want a thicker consistency, which leaves less lotion on the skin when used)
2 tablespoons (or more) of Zinc Oxide (available online or in many stores on the diaper aisle, just make sure it is pure zinc oxide)
optional: Vitamin E oil to preserve. I added 1 tsp vitamin E oil for this recipe made with 1 cup of each ingredient)
optional: a few drops of vanilla or essential oil for scent (do not use citrus oils!)

How to Make---
Combine all ingredients (except zinc oxide and essential oils if using) in a double boiler, or a glass bowl over a smaller saucepan with 1 inch of water in it.

Turn the burner on and bring water to a boil. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth:

Remove from heat and add the zinc oxide powder and essential oils.

Gently stir by hand until essential oils are incorporated.

Carefully pour into molds or whatever you will be allowing the lotion bars to harden in. I used these silicon baking cups, though any mold would work. This recipe exactly filled 12 silicon baking cups when I made it.

Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before attempting to pop out of molds. These could be made in different shaped molds for different holiday gifts (hearts for valentines, flowers for Mother’s day, etc) or made in a square baking pan and then cut into actual bars.

Non Toxic Natural Cat and Dog Repellents

Before we Begin  I love Cats and I love Dogs  but Sometimes they can be a Pest
Pooping and Peeing in your Garden or destroying your Garden or  strays  or  they eat things in your garden or home that can be dangerous.
so keep them away with natural Repellents   These are non Toxic Repellents

Plants that Repel Cats and Dogs

Coleus Canina

Also known as Scardy Cat, Coleus canina has a strong smell that repels cats, dogs and other animals. deer, racoons squirrels etc. The National Gardening Association suggests creating a hedge with Coleus canina plants spaced about 3 feet apart around flowerbeds, sandboxes and other areas where cats are unwelcome.

Coleus canina is a compact (1- to 2-foot tall) annual bedding plant with dark green foliage and small blue flowers. Planted as a hedge, with plants spaced 3 feet apart, it has been proven to keep pets away from gardens, landscape areas, sandboxes, and playgrounds. Like ornamental coleus, it doesn't harm people and is safe for the environment.

Herbs and Flowers

Among the herbs that repel cats are Rue, Canina, citronella, lavender, rosemary, lemon grass oil, citronella oil, eucalyptus oil and mustard oil.Anise, Bergamot, Castor,Calendula and Chives. Cats should stay away if you plant them as a border around your flowerbeds or intersperse them among the other plants in your garden

put the herbs in a spray bottle and add some water and spray your fence to leave a chemical scent cats and dogs can smell to stay away    you can also sprinkle the dried herbs in your garden or house to keep cats out of room

Dogs do not like Marigolds. The mustard plant also repels dogs. The herb lemongrass is a good choice to plant in between other plants that you do not want your dog to destroy

you can grow Cayenne pepper or chilli pepper plants dogs and cats hate the smell and avoid them

Coffee grounds and pipe tobacco also work to repel cats and dogs.

Dogs and  Felines detest citrus scents and will avoid areas where they find lemon or orange peels, which can be placed around your garden.  if you recall my Citrus Vinegar blog recently  using lime, lemon, grapefuit, and orange peels  spray it around and cats hate it and keeps them away from where its sprayed

also grind it up and mix  the peels into mulch and your garden as a bonus this also repels insects too!

All-Natural Headache Remedy

All-Natural Headache Remedy
~~Headache~~ we all get them they are annoying and can ruin your entire day so here are some easy ways to get rid of them without using chemicals to pollute your body.

Instead of popping a pill, try these natural cures to relieve your headaches. Their efficacy proves that you can find relief outside of a bottle.

1. Water

One of the major causes for headaches is dehydration. To treat your headache naturally with water, it is a good idea to first find out what type of headache you have. First, there are chronic tension headaches that can result from stress overload, fatigue and even from physical problems, psychological and emotional issues and depression. Then, there are cluster headaches, which are categorized by coming in groups of one to four a day in a set cluster periods that could be days or months. Hormonal headaches are similar to migraines in that they affect only one side of the head, and they are also frequently accompanied by nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and/or noise. Finally, there are sinus headaches, which can be experienced after a cold or other medical condition.

Water can aid as a treatment to all of these headaches. In tension headaches, it was noted above that a cause can be fatigue. Fatigue is a side effect of dehydration. So, if dehydration is the cause of the fatigue and fatigue is the cause of the headache- start by treating the fatigue and get hydrated. Tension headaches could also be a symptom of other problems, so if they persist it is a good idea to seek help from a medical professional.

2.Get enough sleep.
Sleep deprivation
One large study says those who slept an average of six hours a night tended to have significantly more severe and more frequent headaches than those who got more z’s.
you need 6- 8 hours of sleep a day

3.Tension Headaches
This is the most common type of headache. It feels like there is a vice squeezing your head. Caused by the contraction of muscles that cover your skull, this pain runs from one ear to the other, around the front of your head. It’s often caused by stress and lack of sleep.

Solutions

Peppermint oil
Apply this oil to your hairline; it creates a cooling sensation that relaxes the muscles in your head and neck. You can find this oil in health stores for $6.

Ginger Tea
You can buy fresh ginger at your local grocery store. Crush up an inch of ginger root and add it to boiling water. This homemade tea reduces inflammation in about the same amount of time as it would take an aspirin to work

4.Cluster Headaches
The pain of a cluster headache is often described as an ice pick in the head because of its concentrated stabbing feeling. The name comes from the fact that the headache occurs in a cluster of days over several weeks. The pain is often followed by a runny nose or fever, so they are often known as “histamine headaches." Cluster headaches are common in the winter due to temperature changes.

Solution

Capsaicin Cream
The active ingredient in this cream is cayenne pepper. Apply a small amount to the inside of your nostril that’s on the side of your head where you are experiencing pain. The cream works to block nerve pain signals. This effective remedy can be purchased for about $11 in a health food store.

5.Migraine Headaches
This one-sided throbbing pain causes sensitivity to light and sound and may cause nausea. Migraines run in families and women are three times more likely to have them than men. Experts believe that migraines may be caused by nerve signals that the brain misinterprets as pain.

Solutions

Feverfew
In clinical trials, this supplement from the sunflower family has been shown to be effective for treating migraines. It reduces inflammation, which takes pressure off the nerves and helps to prevent migraines entirely. It costs around $12 and comes in capsule form.

Acupressure Massage
This ancient Chinese healing method involves applying pressure to certain points on the body to relieve pain. Place your finger in the depression between your first and second toe and press firmly for 3-5 minutes

6.Magnesium: When taken daily, magnesium may help reduce the frequency of migraines. The mineral helps to calm nerves, which tend to get overexcited during a migraine. Some studies have found that migraine sufferers tend to be deficient in magnesium. You’ll likely need more than the average multi-vitamin contains or about 400 to 600 milligrams a day. Look for amino acid-chelated magnesium (many brands contain magnesium oxide, which is not absorbed as well). You can also increase your magnesium by eating dark green vegetables, nuts and seeds.

7.Vitamin B2 (riboflavin): Studies have shown that having adequate vitamin B2 can reduce the frequency of migraines. One theory of migraines is that too many demands are being made on nerve cells, and there’s not enough energy being produced to support the demands. Vitamin B12 (as well as magnesium) play important roles in boosting energy production inside nerve cells, You need about 400 milligrams of riboflavin a day for prevention, which is more than the average multivitamin contains.

8.Vitamin D: Vitamin D deficiency is becoming more common, as people spend more time indoors or avoiding the sun. Whether that is contributing to migraines is unknown, but studies have shown that vitamin D may play a role in the way you perceive pain. Most people can safely take about 2,000 milligrams a day.

9.Massage and essential oils

The three main essential oils that help to relieve headaches are Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage and Lavender. Aromatherapist Alison Parton says: 'When essential oils are massaged into the body, or added to the bath, they are infused into the blood stream. As they enter the circulation system, they act as a natural painkiller.
'They also work on the olfactory - or smell - system. When you breathe in oils, this triggers the central nervous system to act on the property of the oil.'

Essential oils for headaches:

Roman Chamomile: As an effective anti-inflammatory, Roman

Chamomile acts as a muscle relaxant.

Lavender: When infused into the blood stream, Lavender acts as a natural pain reliever.

Clary Sage: Good for hyper tension, Clary Sage slows down the heart rate. This is turn lowers blood pressure and prevents any build up of tension.

How to use
Pour six to eight drops of essential oil into a hot bath. Soak for 20 minutes. Essential oils can be very powerful - do not use them if you're pregnant. For massage, add two drops of essential oil to five millilitres of sweet almond oil.

Scalp massage: Using your finger tips, apply vigorous friction strokes all around the scalp. This brings fresh blood to the nerve endings around the tension in the scalp and helps to loosen the muscles.
Forehead massage Place your index fingers either side of the bridge of your nose - just where the eyebrows meet. Press quite hard. Applying steady pressure, work your fingers across the eyebrow area. This breaks down toxins and helps to release any tightness around the front of the skull.

10.Fever Few
Feverfew is notorious for its ability to prevent and stop headaches. If one or two leaves are taken on a daily basis, it reduces the frequency of migraines, and if one does occur, it tends to be less severe than normal. Feverfew may work in several ways: It limits the secretion of compounds that cause inflammation, it prevents blood vessels from constricting, and it prevents the neurotransmitter serotonin from being released from certain cells. Feverfew accomplishes all this with minimal side effects.

One of the active ingredients in feverfew is called parthenolide. Research indicates that taking 250 mg of this substance per day as part of an extract of the whole leaf on a continuous basis is the minimum dose needed to reduce the number of migraines you have, as well as their severity. It usually takes four to six weeks before effects are noticed. Feverfew is best taken in capsule form or as a fresh leaf. Ginkgo biloba may also be of assistance if you have migraines. It improves circulation, decreases inflammation, and inhibits the production of a substance called platelet-activating factor that may be linked to migraines. If you have frequent headaches, it is important to identify what might be causing them. Keeping a diary of foods and reactions may help. Food allergies and sensitivities often trigger an attack; eliminating them may eliminate most painful headaches. The pain of tension headaches can be diminished with herbs that have sedative and antispasmodic properties. The sedative herbs will relax you, decrease anxiety, and help you feel calmer. The antispasmodic herbs will relax muscles in the head and neck and can also help relax muscles that line the arteries, preventing them from constricting and reducing blood flow to the brain. To get both sedative and antispasmodic effects, use valerian, skullcap, lemon balm, and passion flower. Make a tea or tincture of these herbs at the first sign of a headache and drink a cup or two. You can also include herbs such as lavender and mullein. On the other hand, if you're looking more for muscle relaxation, add chamomile, rosemary, or mint.Do not use feverfew if you are pregnant or nursing. Eating raw feverfew leaves may occasionally cause mouth sores; you may prefer to dry them and put them in capsules. The side effects of this herb are usually mild -- occasional gastrointestinal upset or nervousness.Classifying your headaches and noting possible triggers can help you avoid getting them; so can taking herbal remedies. But, if you do happen to get a headache, taking herbs may help ease the pain and provide some much-needed relief.

Cancer Fighting Herbs

The Pharmacy in Your Kitchen You can also fight cancer in the kitchen by using culinary spices and herbs that also lower Pro-Inflammatory TNFa and IL6. Such an Anti-Cancer Anti-Inflammatory diet might also include the liberal use of oregano, rosemary, garlic, tumeric, ginger and green tea also rich in cell protective anti-oxidants

I am not Promising a Cure but these May help
I am not a doctor I am just Daw and I am simply trying to help
before taking any herbal treatment consult with your doctor

1 ASTRAGALUS (Huang Qi): A Chinese herb; an immune system booster, known to stimulate bodys natural production of interferon. It also helps the immune system identify rogue cells. Work with the herb in both cancer and AIDS cases has been encouraging. The MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas conducted research showing that taking Astragalus when having Radiotherapy doubled survival times.

2 BERBERIS FAMILY (e.g. Podophyllum peltanum): Slow active purgative. Research has shown these herbs to have a strong action against cancer and they have been used with many cancers, especially Ovarian cancer.

3 BLOOD ROOT (Sanguinaria canadensis): Research shows consistent anti-neoplastic activity. It is effective against cancer tumours, and can shrink them; and has proven useful with sarcomas.

4 BUTCHERS BROOM (Ruscus aculeatus): The active ingredients of this herb has been found to be the ruscogenins which have tumour-shrinking and anti-oestrogenic abilities. Thus its use in the treatment of breast cancer.

5 CATs CLAW (Uncaria tormentosa): An adaptogen and powerful immuno-stimulant, it enhances the white cells clean up process (phagocytosis). It is an excellent companion to astragalus, curcumin and echinacea. Research indicates it can reduce tumour size, particularly with skin cancers. It also helps reduce the side-effects of chemo and radiotherapy.

6 CHAPARRAL (Larrea mexicana): Cancer Watch covered a major research study from the US which heaped praise on this herb. It appears to boost the immune system, stop metastases and reduce tumour size. Seems especially interesting with breast cancer. It is also an anti-oxidant and anti-microbial, with low toxicity.
7 CURCUMIN (Turmeric): This spice (Curcuma longa or Turmeric root) has been shown to have significant anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory activity. That alone seems enough for certain hospitals in America to consider using it in the treatment of polyps and colon cancer. However new research shows that it can both shrink cancer tumours and inhibit blood supply growth to tumours. It is a powerful antioxidant with liver protective benefits, and outperformed several anti-inflammatory drugs without side-effects in research.

8 DANG SHEN ROOT (Codonopsis pilosula): increases both the white blood cell and red blood cell levels, so can be extremely helpful to patients having chemotherapy and radiotherapy, or to patients whose cancer diminishes levels of either.

9 ECHINACEA: Another known immune system booster, it gained a populist reputation in treating colds. There is research on its helpfulness with brain tumours apart from its abilities to increase the levels of certain immune white cells in the body.

10 FEVERFEW: This herb caused a storm when research from Rochester University in New York showed it to be more effective than the drug cytarabine in killing leukaemia cells. The US Food and Drug Agency put the active ingredient, parthenolide, on to its fast track programme. Nothing has yet been heard. But then, the FDA has never approved a herb for use as a cancer treatment.

11 GOLDENSEAL: One cause of stomach cancer can be the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. This burrows into the mucous lining of the stomach to hide from gastric acids, and then causes irritation, acid reflux, ulcers and even cancer. Goldenseal is generally anti-microbial and is used in the Caribbean and South East Asia against parasites. Goldenseal, helped by the mineral Bismuth, will kill Helicobacter pylori. Vets seem to know this, even if doctors dont.

12 MILK THISTLE: Known for years to be helpful to the liver, this herb has now been shown to be capable of protecting the liver during chemotherapy. Research in America showed that leukaemia patients who took milk thistle had reduced liver toxicity and chemo side-effects. There is evidence that it has its own anti-cancer activity too.

13 PAU DARCO: This tree bark was original thought to be a strong anti-cancer agent, but then its actions were clarified as strongly anti-bacterial, anti-yeast and anti-microbial. That alone might be enough in some cases of cancer cause. But new research on the differing ingredients has shown the quinoids possess immune strengthening abilities and seem to help in cases of blood and lymph cancers.

14 RED CLOVER: Research from a number of centres including the Royal Marsden has shown its potential as a part of a treatment programme against oestrogen-driven cancers, from breast to prostate. One active ingredient in the so-called Herb of Hippocrates is the anti-oestrogen Genistein.

15 SHEEPs SORRELL: Used in Essiac and other herbal remedies it is a cleanser and aids healthy tissue regeneration. There is some suggestion from research that it helps normalise damaged cells and tissue. It is also a highly praised ´vermifuge´ - intestinal worms have little or no resistance to this herb.

16 SKULLCAP (Scutellaria barbata): Research has shown action against many cancer types, for example against cancers of the lung, stomach and intestines.

17 SUTHERLANDIA (Cancer Bush): Peer reviewed research studies indicate that this herb is anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-fungal. It boosts the immune system and inhibits Tumour Necrosis Factor, known to drive wasting in cancer patients.

18. THOROWAX, or HARES EAR (Bulpleurum scorzoneraefolium):

Research has shown its ability to enhance the production of natural interferon and it seems especially useful in bone cancer.

19 WHEATGRASS: One of the top private hospitals in South East Asia extols the benefits of freshly juiced wheatgrass. One shot gives you the chlorophyll of some 12 or more kilograms of broccoli. It acts as a blood purifier, and liver and kidney cleansing agent. After two weeks of daily use, blood and tissue oxygen levels improve, as does circulation. And oxygen is the enemy of the cancer cell, as Otto Warburg told the world.

20 WORMWOOD: Another Chinese Herb, this has outperformed certain anti-malaria drugs and is now used by the aid agencies. It is strongly anti-microbial and anti-yeast and can be used as an effective part of an anti-candida diet. Also certain cancer treatments cause excesses of yeasts to form (for example, in Leukaemia treatment) threatening the patients health further. Excess yeasts are even felt by some cancer experts to be one of the causes of cancer. However, in recent research Wormwood has been shown to have direct anti-cancer properties.

21.Turmeric (Curcumin)

Turmeric is a yellow powder made from the plant Curcuma longa, and is a venerable ingredient in yellow curry. Most Asian or Middle Eastern kitchens will have a supply of turmeric on hand. Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for about 5,000 years.
Very solid science shows that curcumin has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer powers, and thus has potential in helping fight a host of malignant diseases. In one lab study, breast cancer tumors and metastasis were reduced with a dietary dose of curcumin, even on tumors that resisted treatment with Taxol.

When mixed with black pepper and olive oil, your body absorbs curcumin two thousand times better than if you take turmeric capsules.

22.Cinnamon (Proanthocyanidin)

Cinnamon is used in stick or powdered form, both of which are derived from cinnamon bark. This aromatic spice finds its way into baked goods as well as meat marinades. The Imperial Romans burned cinnamon at royal funerals and considered it a sacred plant.
Phenloic polymers in cinnamon are beneficial for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Cinnamon can reduce your blood sugar and LDL cholesterol levels, as well as increase your insulin levels. Proanthocyanidins, a type of flavonoids in cinnamon, have potent antioxidant capability and may be able to inhibit tumor growth by starving the cancer cells. These special flavonoids may also block the formation of nitrosamines, a carcinogen that can damage the DNA in your breast tissue.

23.Ginger (Gingerol)

Ginger is a rhizome that is related to turmeric. Ground ginger has been used in western and European cooking since the time of the Roman Empire; in Asia and India, it is more commonly used fresh and used as a natural treatment for nausea and motion-sickness. In either form, ginger has a hot, pungent taste that works as a good contrast to sweet flavors in desserts and main dishes.
Gingerol has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor powers. In some studies, gingerol inhibited tumor angiogenesis (formation of blood vessels leading to the tumor), and seemed to reduce metastasis of cancer cells. Gingerol also acts as an antioxidant, scavenging free radicals that might otherwise cause cell damage.

24. GARLIC

Garlic is a very powerful anti-cancer spice. Studies all over the world have shown it to lower the risk of developing all types of cancers especially colon, stomach, intestinal, and prostate cancer. It has strong antibacterial properties as well as the ability to block formation and halt activation of cancer-causing substances. It can also enhance DNA repair; slow down cell reproduction and, like Turmeric and Oregano, induce apoptosis.

25.Oregano

Oregano has extremely high levels of antioxidants and antimicrobial compounds. One teaspoon of oregano has the same antioxidant power (ORAC) of two cups of red grapes! It contains the phytochemical Quercetin, which is known to slow cancer growth and also promote apoptosis (there’s that word again). And on top of that Oregano is a good source of Vitamin K and Iron.

26.Cayenne Pepper and Capsaicin
Cayenne, also known as red pepper, can be used as a spice for cooking, as well as for medicinal purposes. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, cayenne has been used in traditional medicine to help ease digestive issues, stimulate appetite and improve blood circulation. Capsaicin is a substance in cayenne that contributes to its hot and spicy flavor, but this substance also aids in pain relief. Capsaicin cream is used for itching and inflammation and muscle pain, and capsaicin can also be taken in capsule form. Talk to your doctor before using capsaicin.

27.TOMATOES AND BROCCOLI AND CANCER
Tomatoes have anticancer effects. Tomatoes reduce testosterone level; some cancers such as prostate cancer need testosterone to thrive. Also, phytochemicals in tomatoes help to reduce cancer.
Like tomatoes, broccoli is also anticancerous. Broccoli contains sulfur compounds that degrade carcinogens.
It has been known that tomatoes and broccoli individually have anticancer effects. But only recently known that when eaten together, they're much more powerful!
Researchers recently found that the tomato-broccoli combination dramatically shrinks cancerous tumors, especially prostate tumors.

The more you include tomatoes and broccoli in your meals, the better. This is easier than you think. For example, tomato sauce is a main ingredient in most Italian foods. So all you have to do is add broccoli - and you have a powerful anticancer cocktail!
Do you enjoy Caesar salad, Chef salad, Chinese chicken salad, Cobb salad, Greek salad, or Michigan salad? If so, make sure you add plenty of tomatoes and broccoli, and say goodbye to cancer.
Eaten raw or cooked, the tomato-broccoli combination is a powerful anticancer cocktail. In fact, eating tomatoes and broccoli cooked may make their cancer-fighting constituents more bioavailable.

28.Virgin's mantle
Active constituents found in the aqueous extract of a flower native to Spanish coasts, locally known as Manto de la Virgen (English: Virgin's mantle), botanical name Fagonia cretica, showed cytotoxic activity against breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231, causing p53 associated growth arrest within 5 hours of extract treatment and apoptosis within 24 hours,

The plant-based tea is already drunk by women in rural Pakistan who have breast cancer, but until now its use as a treatment has been regarded as folklore.

Research by scientists at Aston University, Birmingham, and Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, suggests it contains potent anti-cancer agents that act singly or in combination against the proliferation of cancer cells.

29.Cannabis
A compound found in cannabis may stop breast cancer from spreading throughout the body, according to a new study by scientists at California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute. The researchers are hopeful that the compound called CBD, which is found in cannabis sativa, could be a non-toxic alternative to chemotherapy.

30.Watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris) is a rich dietary source of vitamin C and glutathione. Watermelon also is an excellent source of carotenoids such as lycopene, beta-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin, as well as L-citrulline (an effective precursor of L-arginine) and a small fraction of cucurbitacins, all of which have been shown to have chemopreventive properties. Watermelon also has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, and to reduce cardiovascular risk factors by improving glycemic control and ameliorating vascular dysfunction in laboratory animals with type 2 diabetes.

Tutorial how to make it

Mason jars

you find them in craft stores and supermarkets

One 12 oz. bag of wax flakes per jar   you can also buy a Brick of  Wax and Shred it yourself if you prefer

you find wax for candles at Craft stores and online

Candle  Wicks you find them in craft stores  and candle making websites
Don’t worry about being too fussy with the measurements, since you’ll be able to simply trim off any excess wicking later.

A piece of advice - there are dozens of kinds and sizes of wick. it makes a big difference in the performance of your candle. too-small wicks will not consume enough wax and eventually tunnel so deep that they can't draw in enough oxygen and just extinguish themselves. too-big wicks will burn poorly, releasing incompletely combusted carbon (soot) and can even crack the container. if you aren't sure of the size of the wick you have - try putting a piece of it into a votive candle (just pull out the wick it already has) and see if it makes a little flame or a big one.

Wick Guide    <-  click the link to learn more on wicks

Most Candle Supply Companies have a chart so you know what size/style of wick to use for what container.

A zinc core wick size 44-24-18 is designed for Votives, Pillars & Small Containers ( 2.0" - 2.5" ) , then a 51-32-18 are for Pillars & Medium Containers ( 3.0" - 3.5" ) and the
60-44-18 are for Pillars & Large Containers ( 3.5" - 4.0" ).

You also have papercore, LX, wooden, hemp…So you need to match the wick to the type of wax , most people do NOT use zinc core with natural wax, like soy.

Dowel rods or wooden skewers

you can also use a pencil or Chopsticks

Start off by melting the wax over low heat. Keep in mind that it should never smoke, burn or boil. Stir throughout to ensure even consistency and temperature. While the wax is melting, center the wick in your Mason jars and secure them with the rod or skewer. Once the wax has completely melted, add in your essential oils and stir.

At this point, you’ll need to pour the melted wax into each Mason jar. It will take a while for the wax to cool completely, so kick back and relax. Turn on game of thrones  and play the waiting game!  Once the wax has cooled and hardened, remove the securing rod and snip the wick down to a safe length.

easy and simple

I have made them all last summer and yes they do work
